The Committee on Academic Policy assists the Board in assuring that educational, research, and other academic activities are consistent with the university's mission and plans enunciated from time to time by the president and the Board.
The Committee on the Applied Physics Laboratory exists for the composition of the Board of Managers of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory LLC.
The primary purpose of the Committee on Audits and Institutional Risk Management is to assist the Board in fulfilling its financial oversight responsibilities.
The Committee on Philanthropy & Engagement studies, promotes, and takes leadership in policies and plans for the university’s philanthropic support.
The Compensation Committee reviews the president's compensation and makes annual recommendations to the Board concerning that compensation.
The Executive Committee exercises all the powers of the Board of Trustees between meetings.
The External Affairs and Community Engagement Committee evaluates and advises on how Johns Hopkins enhances its communities, working in partnership with community residents, institutions, associations and businesses, local government, and nonprofits having related missions. It also advises on matters of public policy that affect the university.
The Committee on Finance reviews and approves the budget and five-year financial plan of the university’s income and expenses each fiscal year. The Committee on Finance has two subcommittees: the Capital Subcommittee & the Debt Subcommittee

The Committee on Investments supervises all the university’s securities and all property held by the university as an investment.
The Committee on Student Life focuses on the quality and substance of the students' experience beyond the academic realm.
The Committee on Trusteeship, Nominations and By-Laws identifies qualified candidates for possible nomination and, from time to time, presents those individuals to the Board for membership.
